Most of today’s duty belt designs solve too few problems related to work effectiveness, pain relief and comfort for prolonged wear.
Law enforcement management must embrace the responsibility, along with the officer, in remedying the pain caused by poorly designed and engineered duty belts. The Duckbill duty belt is half the thickness of conventional duty belts with no thick plastic stiffener insert. Plus, all our belts are manufactured using Nytek – a synthetic material – that is lightweight, more flexible, stronger and more durable than leather. By being more flexible in both the vertical and circumferential dimensions, it helps reduce or eliminate the pain caused by impingement (belt on bone, belt on lumbar and sacral nerve bundles, belt on major veins and arteries) and significantly increases the comfort of daily use.

Muscle Memory Achieved
Since our cases, pouches and holders will not shift or change position on the duty belt, true muscle memory can be achieved. Without true muscle memory, an officer needs to work harder to find the exact location of their gear on their belt. Duckbill recognizes the importance of “real estate” on the belt. This is especially important as more and more agencies are hiring female officers who typically have smaller waists and less room on their belt than their male counterparts. Duckbill designs and engineers each of its cases and pouches to allow as tight a fit as possible for the gear its meant to carry. As new/popular gear is used by LEOs, Duckbill works to create a module that will fit that specific gear. NO ONE has smaller/narrower modules on the market. PLUS, the Duckbill platform eliminates the need for keepers. That alone frees up belt “real estate”.
Running Without Holding Your Belt
Because there is no module movement when utilizing the Duckbill platform, when running is necessary it can be done without the need to hold onto the belt to prevent any modules from moving around.
