Innovations
Duckbill Law was literally founded because of our innovation and continues with that mindset today. Initially developed in 2005 to address carrying tools and excessive weight on a conventional belt, we quickly realized that our Velcro belts and patented docking technology was perfectly suited for the law enforcement community. Since 2008 our full attention has been on improving the comfort and well-being of LEOs as it relates to the weight – and consequential health issues – that carrying upwards of 20 pounds of gear often leads to. It’s all we do.
We know our platform works. Ask anyone utilizing it. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t continued developing products that make life better for the user. After all, GREATER COMFORT and LESS PAIN is at the core of what we do.
How do we determine what requires our attention? We listen to what LEOs & administrators are saying. That means maybe developing a product to carry a specific item, or addressing a specific issue such as bruising caused by the gun holster. In any event, we have a working relationship with a number of agencies that, once our R&D is underway, will wear-test all of our products. It’s only after their “stamp of approval” will our new products hit the open market.

Max-Con™
Max-Con™ stands for “Maximum Connectivity”. This patented CLAMSHELL style DOCKING is at the heart of our ergonomic solution. When modules link (via Velcro) to our duty belt – then cross link with our anchor belt – all components are transformed into a stable and comfortable DUTY GEAR PLATFORM that properly allocates the weight of all your gear 360° around your whole waist. All that weight is now being supported and “carried” by your upper body muscles rather than the just “hanging’ on your belt and creating stress to various parts of your body.
Duty Belt Pad
An accessory pad that can be used with our existing duty belt platform. Multiple lengths (full circumference of duty belt or just a few inches) allow for customizing and the narrow 3” width retains professional look. This pad attaches and secures to duty belt in seconds and stays secure by utilizing our MaxCon™ technology.
Positioners
What are positioners? Quite simply they are our innovative way of attaching holsters, cases or pouches that are not created by Duckbill, yet allows for and mirrors all the advantages of our MaxCon™ technology. Available in a variety of sizes to fit a variety of products, these simple items basically allow full adhesion to our duty and anchor belts. These unique devices are what allow you to take advantage of our stable duty gear platform while utilizing your own gear holders.
Holster Pads
We listened to you. A regular complaint from LEOs is the bruising that happens because of the constant banging from the hard plastic gun and taser holsters against the hip and upper/outer thigh. Our solution was the development of a 3/4″ foam pad that matches the outline of each specific holster. Needless to say it has been a favorite of most of our customers.
Narrow Gear-Specific Cases, Holders & Pouches
Duckbill recognizes the importance of “real estate” on the belt. This is especially important as more and more agencies are hiring female officers who typically have smaller waists and less room on their belt than their male counterparts. Duckbill designs and engineers each of its cases and pouches to allow as tight a fit as possible for the gear its meant to carry. As new/popular gear is used by LEOs, Duckbill works to create a module that will fit that specific gear. NO ONE has smaller/narrower modules on the market. PLUS, the Duckbill platform eliminates the need for keepers. That alone frees up belt “real estate”.
Molle Vest Docking
With the popularity and acceptance of officers wearing a MOLLE vest, Duckbill recognized the need for better gear holders than are available. With the movement of gear up from the belt to the vest, agencies had few case and holder options to carrying their gear (cuffs, mags, radios etc). Most of the products available are general size pouches that the military uses. In this situation, not only is gear and module movement prevalent, but there’s wasted space on the vest for more gear. Duckbill has created a docking platform that secures each case. Plus, all of Duckbill’s products available for the belt, are available for the vest in this docking configuration. And that allows for a complete uniform “look” for all officers.
